Eleven departments, one church

Quick answer

Zion Worship Centre London is a Pentecostal church at 132 Lewisham High Street, London SE13 6EE, and charity number 1199496. We are led by Senior Pastor Reverend Dianne Namara Ntale. The three words we hold everything together with are Deliverance. Healing. Restoration.

Ministry here is not a list of programmes you sign up for. It is eleven named departments, each with its own named leader, each doing one part of the same work. If you are looking for somewhere to belong, the honest way to choose is to look at what each one is for, and then come and see. Every department is listed below with the leader who is accountable for it.

How these departments are grouped

The eleven fall into three kinds of work, and the difference matters if you are deciding where to start. Growing departments build the church: they teach, they worship, they welcome people in. Serving departments turn what we have into help for people. Supporting departments make the other nine possible, and are never judged by how many visitors they attract.

Department Kind of work Named leader What it is for
Intercession Department growing Minister Moses prayer requests submitted per month
Music Ministry growing MD Pharrell Phillip Kyle team enquiries per quarter; worship night attendance
Media Department growing Jorrell Mukasa video plays; channel subscribers; sermon page views
Children’s Ministry growing Jorrell Mukasa registrations; parents who found the page before their first visit
Youth Ministry growing Minister Pharrell Kyle & Minister Jorrell Mukasa attendance and retention term on term; event attendance
Marrieds & Singles’ Ministry growing Reverend Dianne Namara Ntale gathering attendance; support requests
Finance Department serving Robinah Mukiibi the church’s financial administration, kept in order, and any questions you have about it answered plainly
Welfare Ministry serving Minister Sarah Malima support requests handled; rota coverage
Administration Department serving Reverend Dianne Namara Ntale, Minister Savana Kyle, Rita Nakimera time to respond to a safeguarding concern; announcements published per month
Logistics Department supporting Samuel Mukisa volunteer enquiries per quarter; rota vacancies filled (NOT search traffic)
The Reverend’s Office supporting Rita Nakimera response time to appointment requests (NOT traffic)

What these departments are not for

Ministry here is specific, and pretending otherwise wastes your Sunday as much as ours. The Music Ministry is not a recording studio. The Finance Department is not where anybody negotiates a salary. The Administration Department is where safeguarding lives, and it is not a general enquiries desk. The Reverend’s Office exists to serve the Senior Pastor and does not function as her private correspondence. Logistics keeps services running and is not a growth team of any kind.

We say this plainly because a church that cannot say what a department is not will drift into becoming something else, and the person who discovers that will be a visitor who gave up a morning to find out.

Where to begin if you are new

You do not have to choose a department before you have been to a service, and nobody here will ask you to. Come to a Sunday service, or write to us first through the contact page if that feels easier. If you are looking for prayer and nothing else, the Intercession Department is where that kind of request is carried, and you do not need to have been here before to ask.

  1. Come once, on your own, without arranging anything in advance.
  2. Watch how you are treated at the door. That tells you more than any page on this website.
  3. Only then decide whether there is a second visit, and which department interests you.
  4. If you want practical help rather than a place to serve, that is the Administration Department route, and you are not required to join anything first.

Questions worth asking before you commit

Which of these subdomains are live right now?

Four are: the Intercession Department, the Media Department, the Administration Department and the Logistics Department. The other seven are being brought online and their addresses will resolve as that work completes. We have listed all eleven because all eleven are real ministries with named leaders, and we would rather show you the plan than a short list that makes the church look smaller than it is.

Do I have to join a department to be part of the church?

No. Belonging is not a job. Serving is an invitation that follows belonging, not the price of it, and no one at Zion will suggest otherwise to you.

Who is responsible for the children and young people ministries?

The Children’s Ministry and the Youth Ministry each have a named leader recorded in our own register, and the Youth Ministry is led jointly. Every leader working with children or young people is vetted and trained, and the safeguarding policy that governs all of it is canonical on the Administration Department safeguarding page rather than repeated here.

What if I have been hurt by a church before?

Then you are right to be careful, and nobody here will treat that caution as a problem to overcome. Come once. Judge how you are treated. You owe us nothing, and there is no follow-up campaign if you decide not to return.

One church, not eleven

Read one department’s page and then find a different tone on another, and that is a fault in what we have written rather than in anything you misunderstood. Say so through the contact page and we will put it right.

These are eleven departments of one church, not eleven churches. They share one Senior Pastor, one statement of purpose and one set of three words. If you read one department’s page and then find a different tone on another, that is a fault in what we have written, and you are entitled to tell us so through the contact page.
